Use your gifts and talents to serve the Lord and others at Life in Christ

Life In Christ is building a Stephen Ministry. Our veteran leaders have received training previously in the Stephen Ministry program and have served their congregation prior to coming to LICL.

Once you become a Stephen Minister and have a care receiver we continue meeting monthly with all the other Stephen Ministers for supervision. We also, have ongoing education for the veterans....it is important for us to nourish ourselves with spiritual knowledge and have speakers come and talk with us on different matters that apply to our caregiving.

We are so blessed to have nine veterans who have agreed to serve our church. For most of us its been awhile since we have been a part of the structured Stephen Ministry program. That's why as leaders we felt it very important for us to spend these three months reviewing some of the more important tools that always can be refreshed. We continue to meet twice a month and then at the end of May we will re-commission the veterans. They then will be ready to take on a care receiver.

The Core Purpose (Mission) of Stephen Ministries
Stephen Ministries' Core Purpose is summed up in the words of St. Paul in his letter to the Ephesians. These verses have been rendered by renowned calligrapher Timothy Botts on the entryway wall to the Stephen Ministries Center, boldly proclaiming the mission to everyone who enters.

"To equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ, until all of us come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to maturity, to the measure of the full stature of Christ" (Ephesians 4:12-13).
