Christ Caring for People Through People

Stephen Ministry is the one-to-one lay caring ministry that takes place in congregations that use the Stephen Series system. Stephen Ministers are members of our congregation who listen, care, encourage, and provide emotional and spiritual support to people who are facing a crises or going through tough times. The care you’ll receive is confidential, free, and very helpful.

Stephen Ministers receive special training to provide one-to-one Christian care to people in our congregation and community who are experiencing grief, loneliness, divorce, hospitalization, disability, job loss, and many other life difficulties.

Parish Health Ministry

Health, Wellness & Faith

Sherri Spicer RN, MSN, CNE, serves as our LICL parish nurse and is available to make home or hospital visits providing health consultation and spiritual care as needed. Another important role of the parish nurse is to plan and implement a variety of health promotion programs for parents, teens, children, and older adult members.

Community Outreach – the programs and activities initiated by the parish nurse can be a creative way to share Christian care for the entire person, body and soul, within our community.  Examples include Memory Café, health fairs, newcomers program, healthy eating and exercise classes.

It is important to understand that direct patient care is not part of the parish nurse role. A registered nurse must be must be employed by a licensed healthcare agency and following the orders of a health provider to provide direct care. Should our parish nurse determine such care is needed, she can facilitate obtaining orders for these services.

Sherri has an office space at Life in Christ (in room 4), and would be happy to meet with anyone that would like to discuss health concerns. Please contact the church office at (623) 773-1234.

Music Ministries

930amService.jpg

We are blessed to have gifted singers and skilled instrumentalists at Life in Christ.

Our 8 am and 11 am Sunday services feature traditional hymnal singing with organ accompaniment. Plus, special music by our bell choir, voice choir and other featured musicians.

Join us every Sunday at 9:30 am for our modern worship service, where we sing Christian songs in our traditional liturgical setting.

Our 5 pm Saturday evening service features blended worship: traditional hymns, led by piano and voices.
