Parish Health Ministry


Sherri Spicer RN, MSN, CNE, serves as our LICL parish nurse and is available to make home or hospital visits providing health consultation and spiritual care as needed. Another important role of the Parish nurse is to plan and implement a variety of health promotion programs for parents, teens, children, and older adult members.

It is important to understand that direct patient care is not part of the parish nurse role. A registered nurse must be must be employed by a licensed healthcare agency and following the orders of a health provider to provide direct care. Should our parish nurse determine such care is needed, she can facilitate obtaining orders for these services.

Sherri has an office space at Life in Christ (in room 4), and would be happy to meet with anyone that would like to discuss health concerns. Please contact the church office at (623) 773-1234.


Ministry Efforts at Life in Christ


Coed Exercise Class

Join us twice a week for an hour of exercise at your own pace. Each class focuses on balance, core, strengthening, and light cardio. We also talk about various topics related to living a healthy lifestyle. All fitness levels welcome!

Join us in the Fellowship Hall every Wednesday and Friday from 10 am to 11 am.


Memory Café

If you/your loved one is experiencing the challenges of memory loss, join us for Memory Café. We provide fellowship, light refreshments, and activities, in a safe, supportive, loving, social environment.

Memory Café is held on the third Tuesday of each month from 10:00 am to 11:30 am in the Christian Life Center — Room 11.

We encourage those with memory loss and their caregivers to attend Memory Café together.

Community Outreach

The programs and activities initiated by the parish nurse can be a creative way to share Christian care for the entire person, body and soul, within our community. Examples include health fairs, healthy eating, and Memory Café.
