The Lutheran Women’s Missionary League (LWML) is the official women’s auxiliary of The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod. For over 75 years, the LWML has focused on affirming each woman’s relationship with Christ, encouraging and equipping women to live out their Christian lives in active mission ministries and to support global missions.
At Life in Christ, our 2019‑2020 ministry theme is "Be a Gift." This theme is based on 1 Peter 4:10 (NLT): "God has given each of you a gift from His great variety of spiritual gifts. Use them well to serve one another."
The mission of the Lutheran Women's Missionary League is to assist each woman of The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod in affirming her relationship with the Triune God so that she is enabled to use her gifts in ministry to the people of the world.
The LWML is the leading group for LCMS women where each woman is welcomed and encouraged to use her unique God‑given gifts as she supports global missions and serves the Lord with gladness.
Nurturing Faith in Christ. By God’s grace we offer each woman opportunities to be in the Word and to use her unique gifts in God's service.
Making Our Faith Meaningful. We equip each woman to make a significant difference in the lives of all people.
Sharing Encouragement. We value each other in Christ and we accept and encourage each woman to grow in her relationship with others.
Monthly LWML meetings at Life in Christ run from September through May on the second Saturday of each month. Meetings are held from 9 am to 11 am in the Fellowship Hall with food, fellowship, bible study, and more. Activities for young children (ages 3 to 12) are available, too.
We also invite you to join us for our upcoming events below.
Making Sleeping Mats for the Homeless Community of Phoenix
Everyone's invited to lend a helping hand at the next LWML workday event to support the homeless community of Phoenix! Join them on Saturday, September 19 in the Fellowship Hall from 9:30 am to 11:30 am to make sleeping mats.
Watch this video on YouTube for instructions on how to make a plastic mat by recycling lightly used plastic grocery bags. No experience is necessary — just bring your scissors!
A light lunch will also be served at 11:30 am. Please RSVP on the sign‑up sheet in the church narthex or by calling the office at (623) 773-1234.
