In this week’s Old Testament reading, two women, Ruth and Orpah, are confronted by the risks involved in following the True God. Their reactions are important, and so are our reactions as people called to follow Jesus.
We often talk about how wonderful we’d feel if we just won the lottery. Many lottery winners will tell you all that money doesn’t guarantee a happy life. In this sermon, we learn of a rich man who was lottery rich and found that none of those riches meant as much as being rich toward God.
